When people were racist they believed that people of a certain color or race were inferior. In order for them to be superior the people of a certain race had to have more, or in some cases less, than the people of another race. One of the most famous examples is the book ‘The Bell Curve’ by Richard J. Herrnstein and Charles Murray.

In this book Richard Herrnstein and Charles Murray argued that blacks had more problems than whites and Jews have more problems than Asians, which is why they believe in IQ differences between races. They also said that since blacks and Jews score lower on average they should not be hired for jobs where they can not perform at their previous level. They also made the same argument about women who would not be able to perform at their previous level because of their gender.

Another example is that of George Zimmerman who shot Trayvon Martin because he thought he was a black male and thought he was a threat because he was black and wearing a hoodie. Although racism still exists today there are still people like George Zimmerman who think that hatred towards certain groups can make them superior to other groups.
